L1A1 SLR (Self Loading Rifle)

SLR-L1A1.jpg (13370 bytes)

The Fusil Automatique Leger (FAL), manufactured by Fabrique National of Belgium, is possibly THE classic post-war battle rifle. Tough, reliable, and accurate, the design became an enormous export success. It was sold to the armed forces of more than 90 countries around the world. Though no longer manufactured by FN, variants of the original FAL are still produced under license and can still be found in the arsenals of military and SOF units from the British Isles, the Netherlands, Denmark, Australia, India, Israel, South Africa, Egypt and Brazil, to name a few.

This particular model is the L1A1, deployed with British Forces until they were replaced by the L-85/SA-80. What make the L1A1 different is the fact that they are semi-automatic only and the fore and buttstocks are made of fiberglass rather than wood.

Barret Model 82A1 'Light Fifty'

The Barrett 0.50 "light Fifty" is a long- range hard target interdiction weapon. The gun operates on short recoil principles, where the barrel is fitted with a high efficiency muzzle brake to reduce recoil. An adjustable self-leveling bipod aids the sniper in aiming this high-powered rifle. The Barrett is heavy and cannot be fired accurately while moving. Although the magazine is able to hold 10 rounds, experienced snipers will only load 8 rounds, since the Barrett will occasionally jam when full magazine is inserted.
