PSG-1

PSG-1.jpg (6177 bytes)

The Heckler & Koch PSG-1(Presisionssch Sharfshutzen Gewehr or Precision Sniper Rifle) is the most accurate 7.62mm semi-automatic sniper in the world, and it is in serious contention as the most accurate sniper rifle ever.

The H&K PSG-1 is the current standard sniper rifle for the German GSG-9(Grenzschutzgruppe or Border Guards Group) Counter-Terrorist Team. It is a member of the G3/HK91 family in H&K, which meant that the PSG-1 uses a modified but closely related bolt-breech assembly from the G3 family of rifles. The gun is very heavy, at 17.81lb or 8.10kg, and that was partly due to the famous H&K Adjustable Buttstock, which could be adjusted in size to fit the comfort of the shooter.

This light, accurate handgun has been adopted by police and security forces in over 40 countries. Not bad for a firm that makes entrenching tools!
